Year 4

Stop Motion Lego Movies

In year four before and after half term we built out own sets out of various craft materials ready to make a lego movie! After this we used an app called stop motion on the IPAD and made lego movies using stop animation. It was a lot of fun and required a lot of patience and determination to complete!

Y KIDS

Year Four had a special treat when YKIDS came to visit us to do some work about team building!

We all took part in a workshop called "How to become a minion" which of course we loved and were brilliant at!

We had to do an assault course in teams, Team Kevin, Team Stuart and Team Bob!

We then had to work as a team to create an invention to keep an egg safe when dropped from a great height!

It was touch and go but we are pleased to say all teams were successful and all eggs survived!

Well done Year Four you have showed you can work as a brilliant team!

Spring Term & Arts Week

Welcome back to the Spring Term, I hope you have had an exciting and restful Christmas.

We have a very busy term ahead and  expectations of the children are high!

Our new topic is going to The Romans and we will be starting this next week.

PE day has not changed and all children will be expected to have their PE kits in school all week however especially on Mondays for our PE lessons.

Homework will also continue in the format of English and Spellings on a Tuesday with the English section due in on the Friday of the same week and the spelling test due on a fortnightly basis.

Maths homework will be given on a Friday afternoon and will be due in on a Monday morning.

Reading books need to be in school with home reading records every day and the expectation is that your children are reading every night at home with an adult and are changing their books in school regularly.

Below are some pictures of the children with their fantastic pieces of artwork created this week as part of our annual arts week. The children focused on adapting Jan Beerstraten's Castle painting by incorporating the four seasons into the art work. They have worked extremely hard and I am very proud of them.

Keep up the hard work this term!

Miss Clark!

What a half term we have had! The children have worked extremely hard and we have had a wonderful time celebrating Christmas in school. The children sang beautifully as part of the choir for our Christmas play, indulged in a fantastic Christmas dinner and partied away at our class party with a special visit from Father Christmas Yesterday!

Have a wonderful Christmas Holiday and see you all in the New Year!

Autumn Two!

Welcome back after a lovely half term break, the children are settling in again fantastically and we have an exciting half term of work ahead of us.

Yesterday Year Four attended a trip our local cinema to watch the all time classic favourite film, The Sound Of Music!

They absolutely loved the film and the experience of watching a movie at the cinema with their friends! They were excellent ambassadors for our school and I was very proud of them!

I look forward to seeing you all at our come dine with me lunch on Wednesday 18th November, next week!

Year Four At The Library! 01/10/2015

Year Four had a fabulous time at our local library this morning. The children were able to explore our class topic, The Mayans, in great detail as the library provided them with word searches, cross words and extremely tricky Mayan Maths problems!

The children thoroughly enjoyed the morning and the behaviour was outstanding!

Well Done Year Four and Thank You!

Year Four At The World Museum

On Thursday Year Four attended a trip out of school to the World Museum in Liverpool city centre!

What a fantastic day it was!

The children behaved excellently and were fully absorbed in the atmosphere and engaging exhibition about our class topic, Mayan Civilisation.

The children learned lots of interesting facts including, games played by the Mayan's, the clothing worn by them and also when they were in civilisation.

I'm sure the children will be able to tell you lots of brilliant information about the Mayans and the pictures say it all!
